"Wireless Road, Astoria, Oregon ... May 1, 2011"

The Trip:    Beautiful spring day with temps in the 70s ... a bit hazy with next front coming in ... breezy ... went searching for the Whimbrel, Marbled Godwit, and Short-billed Dowitchers which had been reported the last 2 days along Wireless Road ... SUCCESS on the Whimbrel and the Dowitcher !!!!!!! ... nothing much close to the road but there were over 100 Whimbrels way out in a field ... 17 bird species seen along Wireless Road (in alphabetical order): American Crow ... Barn Swallow ...    Black-bellied Plover ... Dunlin ... European Starling ... Golden-crowned Sparrow ... Greater Yellowlegs ... Gull (species) ... Killdeer ... Least Sandpiper ... Savannah Sparrow ... Song Sparrow ...    Short-billed Dowitcher ... Tree Swallow ... Western Gull ...    Whimbrel ... White-crowned Sparrow ... Black-bellied Plover ...
