The Trip:
Nice sunny summer day, temperatures in the mid 80s ... went up the White Salmon River to Condit Dam and Northwestern Lake, which, beginning this fall will no longer be. Could not get near to Condit Dam. Northwestern Lake was in the process of being drawn down and appeared more like a lazy river than a lake, much to the delight of an American Dipper !!! ... Proceeded on to Trout Lake, 20 miles further north. Quiet lunch at lakeside with a spectacular view of Mount Adams. Bird highlight was a Barrow's Goldeneye youngster ... a nice Band-tailed Pigeon in town.
