The Trip:
overcast and gray but dry ... went looking for Bank Swallows, which in the past had a colony at the mouth of the Toutle where it merges with the Cowlitz River ... this site was reported destroyed in the spring of 2011 ... found 3 or 4 Bank Swallows out over the Cowlitz, and their new nesting site.
