The Trip:
First headed to Owings, Maryland, and the Chesapeake Bay for my niece's wedding ... ran into Tropical Storm Nicole which dumped 10 inches of rain on us !!! ... beautiful day for the wedding however ... then headed to Phoenix, Arizona for 5 days where I ran into the "storm of the century" ... lots of rain, flooding, hail the size of tennis balls (although I only saw hail the size of ping-pong balls) and 5 tornadoes ... between relatives and storms didn't get alot of "birding time" ... but did manage to come home with 21 "photographic lifers" -- 11 in Maryland and 10 in Arizona !!!!!!!! ... on a negative note, I dropped my 300mm lens and smashed the filter to pieces ... the filter is bent and it's stuck on the lens ... the system works however ... all of the Arizona photographs except those in Glendale were taken with the shattered filter on the end of the lens.
