The Trip:
Overcast and very gray and VERY COLD (about 30 degrees) day ... went out to look for the Harlequin Ducks being reported there ... SUCCESS !!!
NOTE: Photography on a very gray day in the Eagle Creek drainage on the south side of the Columbia River is a bit tough ... camera used: Canon 40d with 200 zoom 2.8 lens ... a couple of shots with the 1.4 "doubler", however went back to the straight 2.8 to try and get more light.
Eagle Creek:
There is an overlook at the mouth of Eagle Creek, on the Oregon side of the Columbia River at River Mile 150. It is ONLY accessible from the east-bound lanes of Interstate 84. It is an enjoyable place to stop, as you never know what you will see when you look across the waters. Walk a short bit upstream too for more birds.
