Caspian Tern:
Ehrlich, Dobkin, and Wheye, in their 1988 publication "The Birder's Handbook", write "Tern comes from the Old Norse (taerne) and the Swedish (tarna) names for these birds. Forster's Tern is named after Johann Reinhold Forster who, in the 18th century, accompanied Captain Cook on his voyage around the world and wrote on the birds of Hudson Bay. The first specimen of the Sandwich Tern was shot in the town of that name in Kent, England; similarly the first specimen of the Caspian Tern came from the Caspian Sea."
