"Brewer's Blackbird"

Brewer's Blackbird (Euphagus cyanocephalus):    The Brewer's Blackbird was named after the 19th century American naturalist Thomas Mayo Brewer, joint author with Baird and Ridgway (in 1874), of "A History of North American Birds", the first attempt of an anthology since Audubon some 30 years earlier. The Brewer's Blackbird was also known as the "blue-headed grackle" and the "glossy blackbird". The first specimens were collected by Robert Kennicott in 1857 in Minnesota.
